Religion

Picture
  • Students will participate in weekly liturgy and daily prayer in the Catholic tradition.
  • Students will develop an understanding of our own uniqueness as a gift from God.
  • Students will learn to see the reflection of God in others in our daily interactions.

Reading

  • Students will practice phonological awareness activities to demonstrate an
  • Understanding and apply knowledge of spoken words, syllables, and sounds.
  • Students will have exposure to fiction and nonfiction text to build an understanding of the written word.
  • Students will build vocabulary by listening and actively participating in group discussions about various topics.
  • Students will practice writing effectively for a variety of tasks, purposes, and audiences.

Math

  • Students will count to 100 by ones and tens and count on from a given number.Students will recognize, count, write, and compare numbers 1-20
  • Students will use objects, drawing, and images to represent addition and subtraction.
  • Students will compare and model two and three dimensional shapes.
  • Students will identify, sort, and classify objects by size, number, and other attributes.

Social Studies

  • Students will learn to become a responsible citizen inside and outside the classroom.
  • Students will examine connections from the past to their environment by becoming aware and participating in various holidays, celebrations, and traditions.
  • Students will develop an understanding and appreciation for following classroom rules as a means of keeping themselves and others safe.

Science

  • Students will observe, manipulate, sort and generate questions about objects and their physical properties.
  • Students will observe, record, and recognize patterns and generate questions about night and day and the seasons.
  • Students will observe plants and animals to compare and contrast their characteristics and ask questions about them.
