What is Title 1?



  • Title I is the oldest and largest federally funded program in our nation’s schools that offers support to academically struggling students in both language arts and math.

Eligibility for Title 1

Services for St. Mark children is determined by:
  • educational need
  • residence in a participating Title I public school area
  • students who qualify for free and reduced lunch as of October 31st


Parent Involvement

  • St Mark recognizes that educating students and helping them achieve success is a shared responsibility. School and parents must work together to ensure that student develop necessary skills.

  • The staff at St. Mark believes that strong parental involvement in the educational process is an important  key to student success.

Tutoring

  • Title I services must be in addition to and cannot replace services that would otherwise be available to St. Mark students.
  • Tutoring services can be individual or small group
  • Tutoring will occur outside of the instructional day .
