Religion

Our class prays together every day. We will focus on building our relationship with God and learning to treat others as Jesus would.
We will attend mass with our 8th grade prayer partners.
Each week we will focus on a Bible story or teachings from the Bible.

Math	We will work on number recognition for numbers 1 - 20. Students will practice counting skills from 1 - 100 ( counting by 1s, 5s and 10s) We will begin to write numbers. We will learn about different shapes.

Every week we will focus on a letter of the alphabet. Each student will learn to recognize the letter, identify what sound the letter makes and write the letter.
We will listen for familiar sounds and work on rhyming skills.
We love reading in Pre-K. Reading comprehension is something we will be working on all year. Who can tell me about the story we just read? Did you like that book? Why or why not? Who was that book about?
We will even begin sight words!
We work on Heggerty phonics to help us learn phonemic awareness.
